Well it's been several rounds of RC releases with no major bug reports-- okay, no bug reports or crashes reported at all-- so I think it's time to take RC9 from the alpha testing channel to the open beta testing channel, where it will likely get a bit more exposure.

If you're trying these experimental versions for the first time, be sure to read the history of blog posts below to learn about all the great features and fixes that have been added. Be sure to report any issues you find in the forum here!

Only 3 days and a new version already!

Fixes include:

* Uses new google libraries
* Fixes a rare Settings crasher on older versions of Android
* Eliminated some unneeded image resources resulting in a smaller apk!
* minor other fixes

Okay folks, a few changes here in testing version RC8:

* Updated tools, plugins and libraries
* String tweaks and optimizations. Consolidated more to make localization (translation to other languages) easier.
* Slightly faster/better pagination.
* Biggest change-- added a check if the script being opened is in the external storage file or cache area of another app. If it appears to be the case, ask the user to re-save to another place. The reason for this is that some apps will allow DubScript to access a file in its own working external storage area. Sounds good, except-- what if that app later decides to overwrite the file, deletes the file, clear its cache, or is otherwise uninstalled? So DubScript now has a check for such situatoins... which hopefully works ;)

Please do test it and report any issues here.

Continuing the rapid releases-- this RC7 release candidate is now available for testing-- it should do an even nicer job at making PDFs. Try it, and please Report any issues!

Google did an update, and so did DubScript. RC6 is just like RC5 only with the new stuff.

RC5:

➕ By request, an option in settings to turn off the paper texture background when reading scripts (default is to show it)
➕ You will now be warned when you try to load an enormous file larger than 5MB or when the file size might exceed available memory.
➕ Updated to newest support libraries
➕ Small UI changes

For some reason, the compiled version is even smaller than before. So please test away!!!

RC4 (testing version) was just pushed for those who are testing DubScript:

➕ Google just updated their support libraries to 24.2.1 (from 24.2.0), so this is a fresh build with those libraries.

Aside from changing the version number and upgrading to these libraries, there were no changes to the code from RC3.
